Winner: Teddy Bridgewater – After going 16 of 20 for 177 yards and two 4th quarter TDs, Vikings rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater’s stock is on the rise. While Matt Cassel seems to have a foothold on the starting job for the moment, Bridgewater does not appear ready to give up his chance to be named the starter without a fight. At the very least, his performance was good enough to make head coach Mike Zimmer hesitant to name a starting QB for the dress rehearsal game on Saturday against the Chiefs.
Loser: Eli Manning – After finishing a preseason game against the Colts with as many passing yards as pass attempts, Manning is still visibly struggling to recover from a terrible 2013 in which he led the league in turnovers. In what could very well be Tom Coughlin’s last season with the Giants if the team fails to make the playoffs, Manning needs to revert to his 2011 form if he wants to save his coach’s job.
