Winner: Andy Dalton – With a dazzling 8 for 8, 144 yard and 1 TD performance against the Jets that also netted him a perfect passer rating, and with the brutal disappointments of the Bengals backup QBs, Andy Dalton proved almost definitively that the team would be nothing without him. His performance in front of many Bengals fans who are angered over his 0-3 playoff record in his three seasons as starter had to at least silence a few doubters.
Loser: Derek Carr – While trying desperately to become the Raiders starting QB over veteran Matt Schaub, the rookie Carr suffered a concussion and will likely miss valuable practicing time as the team approaches the dress rehearsal game against the Packers on Friday. Carr, who was once seen as a possible front-runner for the job, may be relegated to 3rd string QB as backup Matt McGloin continues to impress with the second- and third-team offense.
