Alex Song – Barcelona
Having just snapped up Cesc Fabregas, the Blues are ready to raid the Catalans once again and bring the Cameroonian international back to the Premier League after two unhappy years at the Nou Camp. With Nemanja Matic set to play a bigger role in the side next term, the club are looking for another defensive midfielder to play alongside the Serb, giving the team’s attacking players more freedom to cause havoc in opposition penalty boxes. Barca have already made it known that they are willing to listen to offers for him, and it won’t be long before they start coming in.
Luka Modric – Real Madrid
Another player that Mourinho wishes to raid his former club for is Luka Modric, who has shaken off the cobwebs of his first season in Madrid to become the standout player that everyone knows he is. With Frank Lampard off the books now, there is a growing need for a skilful player to hover around the edge of the box making runs and creating chances for others, as well as notching a few of his own too. However, like Varane, Real aren’t going to want to let him slip away without a fight, meaning that the bulk of that £50m the club received for David Luiz would likely have to go to Spain.
