Florida State’s football program is ranked No. 2 in the country as they remain undefeated with a 7-0 record, and they have been able to block out the distraction of quarterback Jameis Winston’s alleged sexual assault investigation.
The Seminoles will face an even bigger obstacle as Winston and their starting running back, Karlos Williams, are both now being investigated for criminal cases.
Williams is now facing domestic assault charges since he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. His girlfriend is currently pregnant with their second child, and they live together.
If Williams is discovered to be guilty of these charges, the Seminoles may be in even more hot water than they already are following reports that the Tallahassee police and university have swept the Winston investigation under the rug.
However, head coach Jimbo Fisher denied that Williams is guilty of domestic assault. “There’s another false report, and that’s amazing how things happen,” the Seminoles head coach said to ESPN.
It will be interesting to see how the Seminoles can handle additional distractions on the field.
