Hariss Harun is one of the players to be contacted ahead of the 2014 season.
The Football Association of Singapore have begun the process of speaking to a number of Lions XII players regarding their contracts.
The New Paper suggest that five to eight players have been identified by FAS to remain with the 2013 Malaysian Super League champions for the foreseeable future and not just for the 2014 season.
Title winning captain Shahril Ishak, Isa Halim, Baihakki Khaizan and Izwan Mahbud are amongst those earmarked, as is midfield star Hariss Harun after he completed his full-time National Service commitment to become a full professional on August 9.
It comes after 22-year-old Singapore international recently turned down the opportunity to continue his career in Europe with Portuguese side Rio Ave, opting instead to remain at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
Hariss revealed that his team-mates are currently at ease with the situation compared to 12-months ago when the Singapore FA left it until the end of the Malaysia Cup campaign in October to start signing up players.
This time round, however, the senior members of the squad are said to be pleased that there has already been some forward movement and that measures have been taken to avoid last year’s farce.
