Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a footballing god.
Surely no human would be capable of scoring an overhead kick from 30 yards, as Zlatan did for Sweden against England back in 2011.
But is a footballing god worth £600,000 per week? That’s the figure the 34-year-old is demanding to come to the Premier League this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
With his PSG contract set to expire at the end of the season, Zlatan will be available on a free transfer. As a result, he is in a strong position to negotiate a huge pay packet.
Mail Sport claim that Zlatan – who they say has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham United – is wary of high UK tax rates, which is said to be one of the factors behind his staggering weekly demands.
For perspective’s sake, £600,000 multiplied by 52 is £31.2m – imagine that as a salary!
Still, a one-off payment of around £30m to sign one of the greatest strikers of all time for a season might be tempting, especially considering the financial power of the Premier League.
However, Zlatan is likely to have many other options. For example, Mail Sport suggest that he has been offered £1m a week to be a poster boy in China.
