Marco Reus – Left Borussia Dortmund in 2006, returned in 2012
Reus was on the books at Dortmund when he was a teenager, but his talent went unnoticed as he was allowed to leave for third division side Rot Weiss Ahlen in 2006, when he was 17. 44 appearances later, Borussia Monchengladbach signed the winger, who quickly established himself as one of the most exciting payers in Germany, scoring 41 goals in 109 matches. His former club Dortmund then splashed £15m on him in the summer of 2012, but haven’t regretted their decision, as he’s scored 31 times in 72 matches already.
