Benayoun looks set to sign for Getafe.
After spending eight years in the Premier League, former Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun is on the verge of signing for Spanish outfit Getafe, reports the Mirror.
Benayoun first came to England from La Liga in 2005, when West Ham United bought the Israeli from Racing Santander.
The 33-year-old enjoyed two years of success at Upton Park, before indifferent spells at Anfield, Stamford Bridge and on-loan with the Gunners.
Benayoun was part of the Blues squad that won the Europa League in 2013, with the attacking midfielder playing five games in the competition – before being released this summer.
Since then the former Israel Player of the Year has not found a new club, but Getafe could be about to give the tenacious midfielder another chance.
Not since the 2009/10 season with the Reds has Benayoun played a major part in a league season and with the player approaching the twilight years of his career, there is every chance of some rustiness.
In 194 Premier League matches the midfield ace has scored 31 goals and provided 17 assists, but never truly achieved the heights expected of such a talent.
Benayoun was one of a number of more senior players in west London who were released at the end of last term, along with Florent Malouda, Ross Turnbull and Paulo Ferreira.
Of the quartet the Israel international is the only one not to have found a new club – or retired in the case of Ferreira.
