Benayoun ready to join the stars at QPR.
Ex-Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham United midfielder Yossi Benayoun is set to join QPR after being without a club since the end of last season, according to talkSPORT.
The 33-year-old was released by the Blues at the end of the 2012/13 campaign and has since rejected offers from Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion and a host of Championship clubs.
Yet it seems Benayoun isn’t averse to moving to the second tier of English football and looks set to join the ranks at Harry Redknapp’s empire.
There are already several former top flight stars at Loftus Road, including Danny Simpson, Richard Dunne, Jermaine Jenas and Bobby Zamora.
Now Benayoun looks ready to join those experienced heads and help propel the Hoops back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The attacking midfielder will pen a two-year deal with the west London club, as first team football has become a must for the Israeli after losing his place in the national team due to a lack of game time.
Benayoun has been training with former club Maccabi Haifa back in the midfielder’s home country, but knows England – and particularly London – well after spending eight years in the nation following a move from Racing Santander to the Hammers in 2005.
During that time the player was part of the successful Chelsea side that lifted the Europa League earlier in 2013.
Benayoun was also crowned Israel footballer of the year in 2001 and remains a well respected character both there and in England.
