David Bentley discussing Levski Sofia switch.
Former Tottenham winger David Bentley is in talks with Levski Sofia, according to Bulgarian website sport.bg.
The 28-year-old is looking for a new club after being released by Spurs in June and Bentley has been touted to the Bulgarian outfit by his agent.
Talks are on going but Bentley’s wage demands are reportedly proving problematic, with the former England winger demanding €20,000-a-week – far in advance of what any other players at the club earn.
There is also some confusing as to whether Bentley wants a one or three-year deal in Sofia.
The man dubbed the ‘next David Beckham’ has also been linked with Dutch club FC Utretch and Spaniards Espanyol, while it is thought Stoke manager Mark Hughes is keeping tabs on the right winger.
It was under Hughes at Blackburn that Bentley made his name but the midfielder fell from grace spectacularly after a £16.5m move to Tottenham in 2008.
