Manchester United rounded off an aggressive transfer window with the signing of 19-year-old attacker Anthony Martial.
The Red Devils also completed deals for Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Sergio Romero, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, however, former Arsenal defender Martin Keown belives the Red Devils overspent during the summer.
“They did a lot of business early in the window and then had a last-minute panic. But it does look like they overpaid for a few of their players, particularly Anthony Martial who arrives with little experience and a huge price tag,” Keown said, according to the Daily Express.
“I’m still not sure Morgan Schneiderlin is worth £25million, especially when Bastian Schweinsteiger arrived for around £10million less having achieved so much more in his career.”

The Red Devils were also linked with Real Madrid stars Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale, but could not close out deals for either player.
Real Madrid have also admitted that they will not likely do business with Man United in the future due to the furore surrounding David de Gea’s failed deal on deadline day.
Although Man United did not land any players that some fans had hoped for, they still were the second-highest spending club among Premier League teams with £108.1m.
Man United currently sit in fifth place after two games without a win, and will have a prime opportunity to make a season-defining statement against Liverpool in their next match on September 12.
