Ivory Coast forward has three goals in two games.
Roma ace Gervinho is enjoying life in Italy, after his double in the 5-0 win over Bologna on Sunday ensured his side maintained their 100 per cent record.
The former Arsenal winger arrived in the Italian capital this past summer, and appears to be benefiting from being reunited with former coach Rudi Garcia.
After a slow start to the campaign, he has quickly found his feet and has three goals in his last two games, as the Giallorossi made it six consecutive victories to start the season on Sunday.
While the system deployed by the French tactician undoubtedly benefits Gervinho given the likelihood of the side creating goal-scoring opportunities for him, his confidence appears to be improving with time.
“Surely, I had more affinity with Garcia than I had with Wenger,” he said according to Sky Sports.
“There is faith from everyone and we have started in a good way. My goals? My worry wasn’t to score but to adapt myself to the project and let the group know me.”
Meanwhile, Garcia has been complimentary of his player after the win over Bologna, and believes that he will only get better as his Roma side continue to improve their understanding with one another.
“He is a lad who needs confidence and we must understand that opportunities he creates don’t exist without him there,” Garcia told Sky Sport Italia.
“He can get some wrong, but I prefer to have him there because I know he’ll create those opportunities.”
After their blistering start to the season, Roma face a difficult trip to Inter Milan this weekend which will undoubtedly provide their biggest test of the campaign yet.
However, having scored 17 goals and conceded just one, Garcia’s side are beginning to be talked up as genuine Scudetto contenders.
