Manchester City are hoping to land Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, and have reportedly offered the Bundesliga club a £46m fee.
De Bruyne’s agent, Patrick De Koster, revealed that the Belgian international will not hand in a transfer request, according to the Daily Mail.
“There is no way we would do something like that. We have a good relationship with Wolfsburg and a transfer request is not something that happens in Germany,” De Koster said.
To make matters even more complicated forCity, Wolfsburg are not willing to sell their midfielder unless they are offered at least £50m.
The latest developments have thrown a wrench in Man City’s plans to capitalise on De Bruyne’s desire for a move to the Etihad in a £200,000-per-week deal.
However, it remains to be seen whether the 24-year-old midfielder can succeed in a second shot at the Premier League.
De Bruyne saw little playing time at Chelsea, as he made only nine appearances before transferring to Wolfsburg.
He experienced greater success in Germany by scoring 16 goals along with 27 assists in the 2014-15 season.
