Former Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham striker Demba Ba is done in the Turkish Super Lig and has transferred to Shanghai Shenhua of the Chinese Super League.
According to the Daily Mail, the 30-year-old Senegal star who is coming off a 27-goal season with Besiktas had been linked to West Bromwich Albion, but decided to move east instead of northwest. Ba becomes just the second former member of the Blues to player for China, with the other being Chelsea star striker Didier Drogba.
A journeyman striker with seven different clubs in the last 10 years, Ba has put up impressive numbers with almost every club that signed him prior to his move to Chelsea in 2012. In his first nine seasons as a senior, Ba recorded over 110 goals and had six years with a dozen goals or more. During his stint with Newcastle United, Ba was named the Premier League Player of the Month for December 2011. However, in one-and-a-half seasons with Chelsea from 2013-2014, Ba appeared in a grand total of 51 games and recorded just 14 goals.
