A former Uruguayan youth sensation has killed his own dad during a row…
Uruguayan Jorge Garcia, who spent three weeks on trial with Chelsea roughly ten years ago, is currently in a psychiatric ward after he brutally murdered his own father, reports South American publication Clarin.
Garcia smashed an ashtray over his father’s head, before strangling him to death, and is currently incarcerated in Montevideo’s Vilardebó hospital as a result, with reports suggesting he’s suffering from acute delirium.
As a youngster, Garcia was prodigiously talented, his club Danubrio’s president, Arturo Del Campo, lauded his wonderkid to the world.
“Garcia hasn’t made his debut in the Uruguayan Premier Division but he is now counting the hours before arriving at one of the most powerful teams in the world,” said Del Campo.
A move to Chelsea was never finalised though, and Garcia only ever played in the Uruguayan First Division, where he was still making appearances up until last year. He did win one cap for his country in 2006, although his career is obviously over after this tragedy.
