NRL transfer news: AFL star considers NRL switch!
Controversial former Cronulla Sharks player Todd Carney appears likely to play in the French Super League as he inches closer to a deal with Les Catalans.
The Daily Telegraph report Carney has told close friends he has agreed to take up a four-year deal with the club – although the contract is yet to be officially signed.
Carney was sacked by the Sharks in June after his infamous ‘bubbler’ photo went viral across social media, prompting the club to cut its ties with the 28-year-old.
He also had his contracts with the Roosters and Raiders terminated after alcohol-related incidents.
The newspaper also reported that two clubs outside of Sydney expressed interest in Carney, but were forced to back down after the NRL stated that they would not re-register the player in the near future.
