Michael Vaughan has been critical of Alastair Cook’s tenure as England captain.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan has asked his Twitter followers to give their opinion on Alastair Cook’s position as one day captain.
After the Three Lions were thrashed by India for the third time in the five match series, Vaughan asked his followers to vote on their preferred candidate for England captain, with people re-tweeting for Cook and clicking favourite for Eoin Morgan.
I am intrigued with what everyone wants for the England One day team… RT if you want Cook to captain.. FAV…if you want Morgan…

Results… 3/1 in favour of @KP24 playing in the WC… 25/1 in favour of Morgan being skipper over Cook… — Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) September 2, 2014
Even though it’s a small sample size, the fact that only 87 people voted that they wanted Cook to remain in charge suggests a deep dissatisfaction with the way the 29-year-old is currently leading the one day side.
Vaughan has been a critic of Cook’s captaincy all summer and called for his resignation as test captain when England went 1-0 down in the test series against India.
However, England managed to turn the series around, winning it 3-1 and keeping Cook in his job.
