Reports on Goal.com explain that the former Chelsea and Swansea City forward has been unable to break into Manuel Pellegrini’s first team, and Villa are believed to be closing in on a £2.5m move.
Sinclair has made just two starts in all competitions so far this season and is readily available for the right price, with City needing to sell before they can buy in January.
QPR and Crystal Palace are also understood to be interested in Sinclair, and while Villa remain the favourites, the duo are hoping that they can take advantage of Villa’s lack of stability, with the Midlands side booed by their own fans during a 1-0 FA Cup win over Blackpool.
