Hamann is telling Bayern Munich that they should cut ties with German star Mario Götze, who has not panned out as expected after playing a key role in Germany’s 2014 World Cup victory.
Götze scored the only goal of the World Cup Final against Argentina, but the 22-year-old has not been the same contributor for Bayern Munich this season.
This was indicated in their most recent game, which they lost to Barcelona by a score of 3-0.
Former Bayern Munich Franz Beckenbauer has been vocally critical of Götze’s performance with his current squad, according to Tom Williams.
Beckenbauer also criticises Mario Götze, who he says “plays like a teenager”. “It’s time he became an adult and exploited his potential.”

Hamann is advising Manchester United to take a chance on Götze, and this may be exactly the right move for Man United to keep their roster young.
They currently have aging veterans such as Robin van Persie, and Götze may return to superstar status just with a change of scenery.
