New York Giants RB Peyton Hillis has been placed on season-ending injured reserve after suffering a concussion against the Seattle Seahawks this past Sunday.
Hillis, who has 115 rushing yards and 8 starts on the season, was acquired by the Giants as a free agent in 2013 after being released from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the middle of the season.
In 2010, Hillis led the Cleveland Browns in rushing, going for 1,177 yards and 11 TDs, earning a place on the cover of Madden NFL 12. Following his successful campaign with the Browns, Hillis missed 6 games with various injuries and arguments over playing time. He became a free agent in 2012 and joined the Kansas City Chiefs for a big free agent contract, but he struggled as the team did and he only started two games for Kansas City that year.
In the four seasons since his great year with the Browns, Hillis has started only 12 games and has recorded 1,633 yards from scrimmage – not even matching the 1,654 he recorded in 2010.
