Hamilton was 50 years old when he died, and it is believed that the person responsible for this horrifying act is Hamilton’s baby mama, Monica Jordan.
They were parenting a 14-month old baby at the time, who has survived this incident.
Hamilton spent the majority of his baseball career with the Milwaukee Brewers before becoming a journeyman with the Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies.
He eventually finished his career with the New York Mets for his last three seasons, and he was part of the Mets’ 2000 National League pennant winning season.
After his baseball career ended, Hamilton eventually became an analyst for MLB Network.
Although Hamilton was not known for being a threatening hitter, he showed incredible versatility as he played all three outfield positions while fielding excellently.
He currently possesses American League fielding records, such as a streak of 229 games without committing an error.
