Juventus’s Pogba remains firmly on the wish list for several English sides.
The news that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is unsettled in Turin has set Arsenal, Manchester City and former side Manchester United into a transfer frenzy, according to the Daily Mail.
However, La Bianconeri are looking to convince the 20-year-old to stay with them for at least another 18 months before deciding to move on.
It’s been a rapid rise to stardom for the young Frenchman, who felt the midfield ace was not given the chances at Old Trafford and left for Juve in the summer of 2012.
City’s elite development manager Patrick Vieira has since admitted that the club made a mistake in not poaching Pogba from their Manchester rivals.
Arriving in Serie A as a relative unknown, Pogba played a big part in the club’s title winning campaign of 2012/13 and gained valuable experience in the Champions League.
The starlet is now a France international and has already played 54 matches for the Italian champions in all competitions.
However, with Pogba earning £1.2m a year with the Old Lady – a fairly modest sum compared to some of the huge wages offered in England – it’s thought the player’s agent Mino Raiola may try and broker a big deal for the France international to switch to the Premier League.
Juve will try and counteract this by offering the youngster a new deal themselves, with the current contract expiring in 2016.
Yet Raiola is the man credited with previous big money moves for the Italian’s other clients Mario Balotelli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Serie A champions do not have the financial resources to compete with the likes of City and United.
