The Scot moved to the Baggies on deadline day after finding it difficult to break in to the first team under new Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal. The midfielder has had to compete with numerous big money signings at Old Trafford this season, and has only made five starts as a result.
The 30-year-old has said that he went to his ex-boss for advice before moving to the Midlands side. The 73-year-old recommended Tony Pulis’ side to his former charge.
