Strootman made a short comeback in January from his original knee injury, but suffered a further set back in early February.
And now Brozzi told Italian TV reporters that the 25-year-old may never be the same again, and raised doubts over his future following the undesirable outcome of the surgery.
“I don’t know what happened to his knee, but his Cyclops syndrome results from a problem in the ligament’s position,” he said vis Bleacher Report.
“The cartilaginous damage is determined by the extensive deficit. Now, if this is the situation, I see no way out. But it’s not up to me to say whether further surgery is needed.
