Redknapp piles the praise on the in-form Welshman.
Aaron Ramsey scored the midfielder’s fourth goal in the Premier League this season during Arsenal’s 1-2 win at Swansea City on Saturday.
It is eight for the 22-year-old in all competitions and the Wales international is in superb form, helping the Gunners to nine successive victories since an opening day defeat to Aston Villa.
Ramsey’s performances has led former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur star Jamie Redknapp to compare the Welshman to greats such as Emmanuel Petit and Patrick Vieira.
“When I used to play against Arsenal, I always used to think about Vieira. Whenever they were in difficulty, the first thing they would do is pop it into Vieira because they knew there was a bit of safety and a bit of calmness about his game,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.
“That’s exactly what he’s becoming for them.
“I think about Vieira and Petit and those big guns and that’s what he’s doing now. There’s a little bit of Fabregas in there as well because he’s adding goals.
“He looks a complete midfielder at the moment.”
It’s certainly immense praise to be compared to Fabregas, Petit and Vieira – three midfielders that led the club to glory over the years.
It is still a little early to see if Ramsey can maintain this form, but manager Arsene Wenger is reaping the rewards for showing faith in the midfield ace when many others had written the player off.
Victory at the Liberty Stadium sees the north London side leap to top of league table with 15 points from six matches.
