According to WA Today, the Brownlow Medallist has been detained by police in the Perth suburb of Canning Vale after a car was seen being “driving erratically”.
The report says police “could not confirm or deny” the arrested man was the former West Coast Eagles and Richmond player.
Cousins spent time at a mental health facility last week after being apprehended behind the secure fences of an SAS base in Perth.
Earlier this month, Cousins was charged after alleged reckless driving and refusing to provide police with a breath test.
Cousins’ stellar on-field career was been overshadowed by a string of incidents involving alcohol and drugs.
The former Eagles skipper was given a 12-month ban by the AFL in 2007 for “bringing the game into disrepute” before he returned for a two-season stint with Richmond.
He retired from the AFL in 2010.
Cousins is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on April 8.
