Serbian youngster set to complete formalities of move on Wednesday.
Roma-bound starlet Adem Ljajic has arrived in the capital for his medical, and greeted journalists at the train station by declaring “Forza Roma!”.
The 21-year-old bid farewell to his former team-mates on Tuesday evening, after final discussions took place with Fiorentina officials at the club’s headquarters.
With speculation in the Italian media suggesting that the Viola gave Ljajic two options, either stay and don’t play or join Roma, the talented youngster decided on the latter.
His decision will however come as a blow to AC Milan who had held a long-term interest in the star, but they will now have to look elsewhere ahead of the transfer deadline.
Nevertheless, Ljajic arrived in Rome via train and whilst being escorted towards transport to take him to Roma’s training complex in Trigoria, he declared “Forza Roma” to journalists as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Serbian starlet is now expected to undergo medical tests before signing the contract at some stage either today or tomorrow, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will be ready to make his debut this weekend.
His arrival is likely to signal the end of Erik Lamela’s time in Italy, with the hold-up in the Ljajic move reportedly the reason behind the delay in the Argentinian star’s move to London to join Tottenham.
While he revealed he was still in Italy yesterday despite reports to the contrary in the English media, he is expected to finally make the trip in the next day or two as Spurs look to wrap up the deal which sees Gareth Bale move to Real Madrid.
