Some Australia players have been hit with a virus sweeping through the Kangaroos camp ahead of its Four Nations final against New Zealand on Saturday.
According to reports, as many as five players have been floored with the virus and have been quarantined ahead of the decider, with Wednesday’s training session cancelled.
However, Kangaroos back-rower Greg Bird told Sky Sports Radio that he was confident the affected players would be fully fit by Saturday.
“I think there are about four or five blokes (ill) this morning,” Bird told Sky Sports Radio on Wednesday.
“Training is going to be a little bit different today. I’m sure the boys will get themselves sorted out by Saturday.”
It’s the third time the Australian camp has been affected by illness during the Four Nations tournament.
