Australia back-rower Beau Scott could be available for the Kangaroos’ Four Nations clash with Samoa, with his hamstring injury not as serious as initially believed.
Scott suffered the injury during the first half of Australia’s nail-biting 16-12 win over England in Melbourne on Sunday, which kept the Kangaroos’ tournament hopes alive.
Assistant coach Craig Fitzgibbon said Scott was a good chance to play.
“He had a scan this morning and it’s not as bad as they first thought,” Fitzgibbon is quoted as saying by AAP.
“The medical guys will work with him around the clock and there’s a possibility.”
All four sides remain in contention for the Four Nations decider going into the final round, with New Zealand hosting England in Dunedin on Saturday.
