A significantly bigger transfer warchest
After a hugely successful first half of the season, Arsene Wenger has taken Arsenal through a financially tough period to move to a new stadium, keeping them competitive in the process. Only Real Madrid have played more consecutive seasons of UEFA Champions League football.
In order to guarantee finances for the move, the Gunners made a series of long term sponsorship deals which were quickly superseded by their rivals. Those deals are now coming to an end, and Arsenal have agreed a lucrative kit sponsorship with Puma, a renewed stadium and shirt sponsorship with Emirates, and further minor deals.
There will be money for Arsene Wenger to spend this summer, and more world class players could join the likes of Mesut Ozil in north London.
Given what Arsene Wenger has achieved against the oil riches of Manchester City and Chelsea, and marketing behemoths of Manchester United and Liverpool, he has earned the chance to prove Arsenal can match and beat those teams with similar financial firepower.
