France take on Ukraine in the second leg of their FIFA 2014 World Cup qualification playoff hoping to overturn a 2-0 deficit.
Didier Deschamps’ side certainly face an uphill task, but have scored nine times in their last two home matches, and given the calibre of the players in their squad, les Bleus are certainly capable of overcoming the odds.
Arsenal star Olivier Giroud will likely lead the line – perhaps even alongside Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema – but Gunners team-mate Laurent Koscielny is suspended after being sent off in the first leg.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will retain his place between the sticks, while in attacking midfield Mathieu Valbuena is expected to come in for Manchester City playmaker Samir Nasri. Ballon d’Or nominee Franck Ribery will start on the left.
Ukraine can be expected to make a defensive effort, and attempt to create chances on the counterattack.
