Giallorossi legend to make deal official on Friday.
Roma captain Francesco Totti is set to announce his contract extension in a press conference with President James Pallotta on Friday.
The 36-year-old has been negotiating terms over the past several weeks, and despite being inevitable it is understood that the two parties are now ready to make a formal announcement.
According to reports in the Italian media, the club captain will sign up for a two-year extension which means he will be contracted to the club until June 30, 2016 as reported by Football Italia.
Having made his way up through the club’s youth ranks to become one of the most iconic individuals in the Giallorossi;s history, the supporters will undoubtedly be delighted by the announcement.
Despite his advancing years, Totti remains a vital part of the squad and has continued to impress since the arrival of Rudi Garcia this summer.
Roma are currently joint top of Serie A after three games along with Napoli, winning all three clashes and looking particularly impressive offensively.
It is understood that the press conference has been formally set up with both Totti and Pallotta on Friday, after the President flew in from Boston this week.
The timing couldn’t be better for the club legend as he prepares for the Derby della Capitale on Sunday with Lazio. While Pallotta joked with reporters on Thursday night by acting perplexed at the mention of a renewal, he will be delighted to have reached an agreement with the World Cup Winner.
