Platinum Stars Coach still happy with result
Despite his side emerging 2-1 winners against Polokwane City, Platinum Stars Coach Allan Freese still believes his team should have scored more goals.
The Dikenwa coach feels his side should have been more clinical and lamented the fact that he had little prior knowledge of his opponents.
Speaking to Goal South Africa he said: ” I think we did enough to have scored a little bit earlier, but we didn’t. They were like a closed book, so we didn’t know what we were up against, but slowly we started to get into the game and scored that goal.
“it made us more comfortable than before to say we can start to play our football now. We were pushing too hard and we were making too many mistakes to try to score the first goal.
Polokwane Coach Duncan Lechesa feels it was simply lack of game time that proved the undoing for his side. He also spoke to Goal South Africa.
“A little bit of inexperience. We give goals away unnecessarily, but I think experience influenced the results.
“We have to get experienced players sooner rather than later. These boys after they scored they realized that they can come back.
“After it draws they think they can sit back and after Platinum Stars scored they wanted to fight back. We need to fight from the word go.”
