Lyon is considering playing four small-forwards with the pending return of Michael Walters into the squad.
Fremantle coach Ross Lyon is considering playing four small forwards in the big clash with Hawthorn at Patersons Stadium on Sunday.
Lyon said on Wednesday that small goalsneak Michael Walters was likely to make his AFL return in the 2013 Grand Final rematch.
Walters made a strong comeback from surgery last week in the WAFL, notching up 19 possessions and a goal last Sunday.
The 23-year-old kicked 46 goals in 2013 and would add much-needed pace inside the forward 50.
Lyon told media he is considering playing Walters, Hayden Crozier, Hayden Ballantyne and young-gun Max Duffy in the forward line against the top-of-the-ladder Hawks.
“It’s exciting, we’re not the tallest, but we’d play them (all),” Lyon said.
“(They’re) real offensive threats, speed. We really like what we saw (against Geelong).”
Fremantle currently sit fourth on the AFL ladder, two games off the trio of Hawthorn, Sydney and Geelong and one game ahead of fifth-placed Port Adelaide.
