Fremantle Dockers midfielder Colin Sylvia has been dumped to the WAFL after failing to meet pre-season training standards.
The former Demon will train with Peel Thunder after it was deemed his fitness levels were not up to that of AFL standards.
Sylvia was signed on a three-year $1 million deal at the end of the 2013 season, but the 29-year-old has been mostly underwhelming in his time at the Dockers.
Fremantle football operations manager Chris Bond said the club would continue to keep close tabs on Sylvia.
“We will continue to work closely with Colin, but he now has the opportunity to go to Peel Thunder and focus on getting himself back to the level required to play in the AFL,” Bond said in a statement.
Sylvia was publicly criticised by Dockers coach Ross Lyon last season after putting in a string of poor performances, and it appears Lyon has had enough.
The midfielder managed just six games in his first season with the Dockers after playing 157 games in 10 seasons with Melbourne.
