French Top 14 side Montpellier have announced the signing of Queensland Reds man Ben Lucas as cover for the injured fly-half Francois Trinh-Duc.
Montpellier have made the move as Trinh-Duc will be out for up to four months with a broken leg, suffered in last weekend’s against Oyannax.
“He’s an Australian who’s arriving from Queensland Reds, he’s played a few matches at number 10 in Super Rugby as a replacement for Quade Cooper,” Montpellier coach Fabien Galthie said.
The versatile 26-year-old can play at scrum-half, fly half and full back.
