Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov has completed a move to Ligue 1 club AS Monaco on loan until the end of the season.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United man indicated a desire to leave the Cottagers at the earliest available opportunity, and it appears that he has got his wish.
Berbatov has a significant pedigree.
The Bulgarian international scored 49 goals in 79 matches for his country, and to date has 250 goals in 571 matches in his club career.
“I am both happy, excited and a little nervous to be honest, but I can not wait to start training with my new team-mates and begin a new chapter in my career,” said a jubilant Berbatov to the official club website.
“Dimitar will bring us all his experience and talent,” added Vadim Vasilyev, AS Monaco vice president.
“His arrival is of course related to the injury to Radamel Falcao.
“He has played for very big clubs like Manchester United and he is a great goalscorer. With two tournaments to play, he will be a great asset alongside Emmanuel Riviere, Valere Germain and Anthony Martial.
He will complement our other strikers well.”
