Manchester United have forced Paris Saint-Germain to pay an extra £3m for Angel di Maria after the winger posed for a photo with the Ligue 1 club’s owner in Qatar, reports suggest.
Di Maria underwent a medical in Doha on Tuesday, but The Mirror reports that Manchester United were ready to cancel the deal unless PSG agreed to the new terms.
According to the report, the Red Devils demanded £46m after PSG believed a £43m deal has been agreed.
United forced the new terms onto the Ligue 1 side as the Premier League club had only given Di Maria permission to talk to the club, not fly out to Qatar.
Di Maria failed to report to United’s pre-season tour of the United States last month, with The Mirror reporting the Argentine international was fined two week’s wages by the club.
The 27-year-old struggled in his debut Premier League season with United, scoring just three goals in 27 league appearances.
