RB: Kieran Trippier (Tottenham Hotspur)
Attack-minded Trippier was hugely impressive during Burnley’s relegation campaign last season and his international hopes will have been aided by his £3.5m switch to Spurs earlier this summer.
CB: Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur)
Dier – strong in the air, tough in the tackle and calm on the ball- is one of the hungry young crop of players at White Hart Lane that Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to mould into a title-challenging side.
CB: Michael Keane (Burnley)
The second of Rio’s two uncapped recommendations, Keane failed to make the grade at United, but proved that he was Premier League class at Burnley and will be back in the top flight soon enough.
LB: Joe Gomez (Liverpool)
The Reds only signed 18-year-old Gomez from Charlton Athletic last month, but he is shining on their pre-season tour and has been tipped by Brendan Rodgers to break through into the first team this term.
