Turks had hoped to bring Portuguese to Istanbul for next season.
Turkish giants Galatasaray have ceased their long-running pursuit of unsettled Manchester United midfield player Luis Nani after having an offer of £6.5 million for the player rejected by the Premier League champions, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The mercurial Portugal international has been at Old Trafford for the past six seasons now, having joined the Red Devils from Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon for 25.5 million euros on a five-year deal in June 2007.
And in the intervening six-year period the 26-year-old has featured in 212 games in all competitions for United, scoring 40 goals, including 26 strikes in 133 Premier League outings for the club.
However, the wide man has only been a bit-part player in the north west in recent times and with a contract at United that runs until June 30 2014, the Red Devils are said to have been determined to offload the winger when the summer transfer window reopened on July 1, although not now to the Turkish champions.
