Forward says he is enjoying life at White Hart Lane.
Gareth Bale has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will remain at Tottenham this summer by revealing the club are on track to match his ambitions.
The Welshman is reportedly close to signing a bumper new four-year deal at White Hart Lane but has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Manchester United, after an extraordinary season which has seen his crowned double PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year.
The 23-year-old has bagged 23 league goals in just 31 appearances for Spurs this term, spearheading the club’s push for a Champions League place.
But with two Premier League matches remaining, Andre Villas-Boas’ side trail rivals Arsenal by one point and will miss out on qualification for UEFA’s premier club competition if the Gunners and Chelsea both win their remaining matches.
Bale, however, has insisted he is happy at Spurs and says the squad are moving in the right director together.
“We’re all working well as a team. We’re all working together. The club is going in the right direction, bringing in better players every season,” Bale is quoted as saying by The Metro.
“The club has grown every year and I’ve become a better player every year.
“When I first arrived there was talk of a new training ground and a new stadium. As the years have gone on, things have got better and better.
“The training ground has happened and next it’ll be the stadium.
“The club is growing and it’s an exciting time.”
