The Welshman is unsettled in Spain at the moment, but seems determined to remain with his current club instead of taking the easy option of returning to English football, where he previously starred for Tottenham Hotspur.
Looking at his options right now, it might be that Bale is actually making the right choice, even if things are far from ideal at the Bernabeu right now.
Sure, he has had to endure being booed by his own fans and has seemingly had some struggles with his own team-mates in recent times, but he isn’t the first and he won’t be the last big name to go through a rough patch at this incredibly demanding club.
He might also look at his trophy haul since joining Real – one Champions League, a Copa del Rey, a Super Cup and a Club World Cup – is he really likely to enjoy such success with Chelsea or United given their current situations? No Premier League club looks like winning anything in Europe anytime soon, while the likes of United and Manchester City are in a period of transition and uncertainty.
Bale has the ability to win over the Real fans, and a few bad games this season shouldn’t stop him from trying at least one more season to make a name for himself at the Bernabeu.
