The agent of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has spoken out about his client’s future after months of speculation.
Jonathan Barnett has insisted that the Welshman has no intention of leaving the Spanish capital, and ultimately wants to end his career there.

“He has come nowhere near being transferred in the past few months,” Barnett told the Soccerex Convention.
“It is all stupid paper talk. He is very happy at Real Madrid and hopefully he will stay there for the rest of his career. He is loving it there.”
The 26-year-old signed for a world-record £85m in 2013, but has continually been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu with United top of the list.
However, Barnett is adamant that the former Tottenham star wants to make a success of himself in Madrid where he believes he is at the top of the game in terms of being with the biggest club in the world.
“Gareth is at the biggest club in the world and he’s going to be the biggest player in the world.
“I never discuss who has (been in touch) and what (was offered), but it has never been. Real Madrid have made it very clear that he is, or will be, their man player and that’s the way it’s going to stay.
“The next few years are going to be very exciting for him. I don’t think he will play anywhere else, but you never know. Certainly I don’t think he will come back to England to play but you never know.
“At the moment he is very happy. He wants to win the Ballon d’Or and with Real Madrid he has got a great chance.”
Barnett’s comments should essentially end the interest from United in Bale, and they will have to focus their attention elsewhere next summer if they are looking to make a marquee signing.
