Anderson eventually triumphed 7-6 after a class, that saw Anderson race into a 3-1 lead before being pegged back by Taylor – and then striking back himself. The match hinged on an incredible ninth set, that saw Anderson come from two legs down having seen a potential 180 fall out of the board to stun Taylor.
He reached 6-4, knowing that just one more set was enough to seal his maiden triumph, but was made to sweat by Taylor who leveled things up before Anderson finished things off, sparking emotional scenes in north London.
