2014 AFL Report Card: Collingwood
Geelong key forward Tom Hawkins has been cleared by the AFL match review panel to take on North Melbourne in Friday’s semi-final at the MCG.
The 2012 All-Australian has kicked 63 goals for the Cats this season and his loss would have been a major blow to Chris Scott’s side.
Hawkins clashed with Hawthorn’s Ben Stratton during the third quarter of last Friday’s qualifying final at the MCG.
The panel ruled that the force used by Hawkins to “jumper punch” Stratton was below that of a reportable offence.
In other MRP news, North Melbourne’s Levi Greenwood is also free to play after his match day report for rough conduct against Essendon’s Mark Baguley during the third quarter of Saturday’s qualifying final was thrown out.
The panel ruled that Greenwood’s actions did not constitute a reportable offence.
Fremantle pair Zac Dawson and Aaron Sandiliands were also cleared after minor incidences in the Dockers’ loss to the Swans on Saturday.
