One of the most anticipated Quarterback battles this off-season may already be over, after the New York Post reported that the Jets are ready to go with Geno Smith as the team’s Quarterback next year.
The position was up for grabs this year after a terrible showing from Mark Sanchez last season, however many still believed that he would hold onto the job until at least training camp, where both could display their talents in a competitive environment.
Smith has the ability to bring a fresh look to a stagnant offensive unit in New York, and his big play ability is what excites the coaching staff the most.
It seems that the projected switch has happened a lot sooner than expected, and Mark Sanchez will need a strong training camp if he wants to hold onto that job.
