NFL.com insider Ian Rapoport initially reported that Parnell had told people close to him that he was not being re-signed by the Cowboys and would be signing with the Jaguars.

Rapoport later explained the terms of the deal – impressive terms for a player with only seven NFL starts in four years

Parnell filled in decently for Cowboys starting RT Doug Free when he was injured for five games in 2014. The Cowboys had a hard choice between the aging veteran free and the young stud Parnell but ultimately decided to keep Free on a multi-year contract.
Whether or not Parnell was legitimately good in 2014 or the by-product of an offensive line that had three Pro Bowlers on the line with him remains to be seen however.
Nonetheless, the Jaguars have a pressing need at the position with former No. 2 overall pick Luke Joeckel failing to stay healthy and failing to perform well when healthy.
