The Black Stars captain hurt his right thigh during the session.
Ghana are sweating over the fitness of captain Asamoah Gyan after he limped out of training on Tuesday.
The Al Ain striker had previously picked up a knock playing for UAE side Al Ain and limped out of the practice session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday after feeling pains in his right thigh, watching the remainder from the sidelines.
Gyan had the affected area heavily strapped with huge patch ice by the Black Stars’ physio and it’s understood that he was withdrawn as a precautionary measure by head coach James Kwesi Appiah in order to prevent further damage.
The 27-year-old played the whole 90 minutes of Al Ain’s UAE Super Cup defeat to rivals Al Ahli last week in order to prove he was fit enough to represent his country in the deciding 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia.
Ghana’s medical team have so far refused to disclose the extent of Gyan’s injury until they conduct an additional examination but his potential absence would be a cataclysmic blow to their chances of qualifying for Brazil 2014.
They currently lead Group D by a solitary point and must avoid defeat in Chipolopolo if they are to progress to the final stage of the qualifiers.
