Welshman scores for fifth successive Spurs game.
Gareth Bale continued his extraordinary scoring form with this fine strike to hand Spurs a 13th minute lead at West Ham in tonight’s Premier League clash.
The Welshman was gifted the ball after a hopeless pass from Hammers full-back Guy Demel and he breezed past James Collins before firing in a trademark left-footed drive that gave goalkeeper Jussi Jaskelaainen no chance.
It was Bale’s 14 Premier League goal of the season and putting him level with Demba Ba. Only Robin Van Persie, Luis Suarez and Michu have now scored more than the prolific winger.
Impressive stuff.
If Spurs can claim three points, they’ll remain four points clear of rivals Arsenal in the race for the coveted fourth Champions League qualification spot, ahead of Sunday’s North London derby at White Hart Lane.
West Ham have just equalised, however…stay tuned.
