The game was poised on a knife-edge, with the USA holding on to a 1-0 lead with less than ten minutes to go. Eddie Johnson had the chance to put the game beyond doubt, but somehow conspired to miss from less than five yards out following an inch-perfect cross from Josh Gatt.
